About Roller Hockey International

Roller Hockey International (RHI) was a professional roller hockey league that operated in North America from 1993 to 1999. It was established with the goal of bringing roller hockey to a larger audience, similar to the success of ice hockey leagues like the NHL. The league featured teams from both the United States and Canada, and it allowed players to showcase their skills on roller skates rather than ice skates. The RHI aimed to combine the speed and excitement of ice hockey with the accessibility and popularity of roller skating. Despite early enthusiasm and some notable players, the league struggled with financial difficulties and low attendance, leading to its eventual collapse in 1999.

Using the Simon T Hockey Simulator, the RHI can now live on. By recreating a 12-team modern structure with fictional players, we can relive the excitement the RHI once brought. Each team now plays a 50-game schedule from mid-April to the end of summer, and the top 8 teams will advance to battle for the Murphy Cup.
